| This is Bettinas third attept to reach the Nort Pole. The first attempt was in 2000, when she aimed for a solo and unsupported expedition. The expedition failed after 8 days. Her second attemt was in 2001, when she tried to reach the North Pole solo, but with resupply. The expedition failed after 3 days due to frostbite in two fingers. This time she is teamed up with a partner, and will try to ski the 1000 km from Cap Arktichesky in Russia. |

| In March 2004 Wave Vidmar will begin his solo journey to the geographic north pole. Leaving from upper Russia, the Artichevsky peninsula, WAVE will walk, ski, and swim 1000 kms to the north pole. The expedition will take approximately 60 days across the frozen artic sea ice.

| So far the only successful unsupported crossing of the Arctic Ocean is the Arctic Ocean expedition in 2000 by the two Norwegian explorers Rune Gjeldnes and Torry Larsen. The famous explorer Børge Ousland attempted an unsupported crossing in 2002, but damaged his sledge and had to call in for resupply. He managed to cross the Arctic solo despite his troubles, but since he had resupply flown inn the expedition was not unsupported. This expedition is abouth the thougest possible in arcic regions, and a successful crossing will surly place Saunders in the history books. |

| On April 12, 2003 Marcus Fillinger will be embarking on a world first solo unassisted dive of the Geographic North Pole. He will be leaving from ice base "Borneo" by helicopter on approximately April 15. From there he will be heading out with pulk, containing two dive tanks, dive gear, and camera gear to complete a documentary as well as record the solo unassisted dive of the north pole. He plan to be out on the ice for approximately 8-10 days / weather dependant. Ice depth and or the availability of open leads will determine where to dive. A helicopter will be used to find the direction to open water near the pole. |

| Attempt to cross Arctic Ocean solo and unsupported. Ousland succeded in crossing the Arctic Ocean solo. He spent 82 days to ski from Severnaya Zemlya in Russia, accross the Arcit Ocean to Cape Discovery in Canada. The
expedition goal was to do this unsupported, but a damaged slede in the beginning of the expedition forced him to get new supplies. He started 2d of March and spend 82 days to cover the 1720 km journey. He reached Ward Hunt Island the 23d of May. |
