| First expedition to cross the Arctic Ocean from Severnaya Semja (Russia) via the North Pole to Cape Discovery (Canada). Gjeldnes and Larsen did not receive any re-supply or other kind of help during the expedition.15th of February to 3d of June 2000. The two explorers covered a distance of 1741 km in 109 days.
