The daily routine

6:45 a.m. - awaken

Gjeldnes start melting snow for drinking water needed for the day's trek. Writing diary, listening to music and take his morning cigarette.

7:45 a.m. - preparation

Larsen wake up from "the death". They eat breakfast and start preparing the equipment.

8:45 a.m. - trekking

Begin trekking, heading north. Each hour they take a 5 - 10 minutes break to refresh themselves with water and food. A normal day last about 8 - 9 hours. Most of the time they are day dreaming about what's happening at home, what they are going to do when they arrive civilisation again.

6:00 p.m. - make camp

Larsen puts up the tent while Gjeldnes melts snow for drinking and cooking. They cook their dinner, consisting of freeze-dried foods. After this meal they melt more snow, drying their feet and legs, find their position by using a satellite navigator (GPS) , make any repairs needed to the equipment, diary notes and discuss this day and ides about the next day.
READY TO SLEEP

9:00 p.m. - ready to sleep

Before they felt asleep, they were listening to music they had brought with them. Big variation; from Classic, Van Morrison to Heavy Metal groups. Mainly, the G2 members slept for 9 - 10 hours every day. It was enough. The very special with the sleep was the dreaming, they have never dreamed so much before as these nights........
